This past weekend I had the pleasure of visiting a town I grew up not too far from, Glens Falls. Glens Falls is a cute little upstate town with an adorable vintagey feel nestled between Saratoga Springs and Lake George.
For my stay this weekend I had the pleasure of being hosted by the wonderful Queensbury Hotel. Known for it’s beautiful newly renovated interiors and wonderful hospitality I was so excited about my weekend stay. The Queensbury is the perfect choice for a Glens Falls trip as it is nestled downtown just one block away from the iconic Glen Street.
Upon my arrival Friday night I entered the lobby and was in awe of the beautiful design and understated elegance. I checked into my room promptly and got settled into my room quickly. The room was very spacious and beautiful. With the new renovations, you would have no idea that these rooms were almost 100 years old.
One of the highlights of my trip included a meal at Park26, a restaurant inside of the Queensbury. Since I was staying in Glens Falls I just had to invite my favorite photographer and 518 Girl Boss, Miss Hannah Hutter of Simply 23 Photography to dinner with me.
With a farm to table style menu I was so excited about delicious locally sourced food. There were so many amazing items on the menu we decided to go with the recommended 5-course menu tasting, which ended up being more like 7 courses with the amuse bouche and sorbet palette cleanser during the course of dinner. Little did I know what I was getting into when we placed our order which included (striped bass grape, chicken and churros, salmon & oats, scallop & lobster, and ribeye potato) Each meal prepared by Collin Miner was exquisite and introduced with a little walkthrough as it came out. The whole meal took about two-and-a-half hours and I was full, to say the least.
After our meal Hannah and I headed up to my room for a fun little photoshoot. Because why not have a photoshoot when you’re staying in a hotel. It’s only natural, right? With a few added props and a comfy bed we took the most adorable picture.
During the weekend of my stay, The Summit a music festival hosted by Wild Adriatic was happening. This was part of the reason for my stay this weekend. My brother’s band was playing and many of my friends were in town for the festival.
Some highlights of bands that played were my brother’s band Paradisa, along with Chestnut Grove, Andy Frasco and the U.N. , and of course Wild Adriatic. It was so much fun to relax for the weekend, listen to music as well as make new friends and hang with old friends.
Although I didn’t buy anything, I stopped at Minky Mink. A contemporary boutique that features fashion from brands such as Free People, Hudson Jeans, and Kendra Scott. This is one of my favorite stores in downtown Glens Falls and I always have to stop in to see what is for sale.
The second store I stopped in was Laura’s Vintage. This shop is one I have always wanted to visit for years but have never taken the opportunity to. Let me tell you I was so happy I finally stopped in. Upon entering I was greeted by the owner sorting through some vintage pieces at the counter with a friend. Laura’s Vintage had so many amazing pieces with great prices. I had to use my self control not to buy up the entire store. I did end up finding a beautiful hair scarf and pair of earrings that I am so excited about.
After my quick jaunt downtown, I met a friend in the Queensbury lobby and we chatted and enjoyed the atmosphere as I finished my coffee. It was so peaceful just to sit and soak in the afternoon light. I still can’t even get over how beautiful the lobby of The Queensbury hotel is.
After another wonderful night at The Summit I checked out of the Queensbury and headed home. I had such a great time and enjoyed myself so much. I can’t wait until my next visit to Glens Falls. Have you been to Glens Falls before? I’d love to know your favorite spots so I can plan for my next visit!
